So, what weapons did the Roman Legionaries use. The normal soldier was assigned two javelins, a sword, and a dagger. All of these weapons very important for the expansion of the Roman empire. The most useful on the battlefield was the sword. Lightweight and useful for stabbing and or slicing an enemy at a moments notice. They also used a bow and arrow. The soldiers would all fire at the enemy lines and take out many of them with a single blow. All of these weapons would be for nothing without trained soldiers using them. Many soldiers had to go through tough training to even wield these weapons.
The Roman armor was also a key role too. The main armor surrounded the shoulders and the abdominal area. The armor protected the soldiers from many blows that were dealt from the enemy.
The armor was usually made out of iron and was heavy but lightweight for the time. In all the armor and the weaponry used by Roman soldiers made Rome what it was then. The whole Roman Empire would not be there because without the soldiers taking over places there would be no Roman Empire.
